walk wag and run!

So today was the Walk Wag & Run at White Rock Lake or to Jackson, his birthday party. The race / festival had multiple events and we participated in the 5k run and 3k dog walk / agility course. Dylan and I ran the 5k in ~26:30 and then got the dogs together for the dog walk. Jackson's favorite friends showed up, Lubs with Kingsley (collie mix) and Missy and Dylan with Pike (golden).

Update: So the results are out and Dylan and I ran the 5k in 26:40 placing 3rd in our age group and 26th overall!

So indie.folk rocker Daniel Johnston has an iPhone app out now. The 3D puzzle game takes you through colorful levels where you are trying to win back your girlfriend from what looks like the devil himself. The game is filled with Johnston's artwork and music, which makes for an great game you don't actually mute their inherent tunes. Besides the fact that I downloaded this app purely because it had Daniel Johnston's name on it, the game is actually done well. The controls are clean and the levels are fun. When you package this with decades worth of his artistic creations, the game sells. At the $.99 pricing point, why not?

colorado day 2.

Today I started out with a nice cup of coffee and this view. We rode around a little on the mule and enjoyed the nice, brisk morning air. After a big breakfast of eggs, bacon, and biscuits we took off to Cottonwood Lake. It was completely frozen! We walked out across it and found some fishing holes. I tested the thickness of the ice and found it to be over 3 feet deep.

We went to Bill's Ski Shop to get our skis and accessories and socialize with the locals. After talking to George, who had worked in the mines in Leadville, CO for 26 years and passed out Valetine heart candies, we went to go four wheeling. We rounded up a mule, rhino, four wheeler, and a jeep. As we kept climbing up the mountain the snow just kept getting thicker and thicker until we finally were defeated.

Tomorrow we will hit Ski Cooper!

So we made it to Colorado. We left at 4:45 am this morning and arrived here a little after 5:00 pm. My grandparents cabin is in a beautiful, scenic location. This is a picture of the bridge behind their cabin crossing the Arkansas River. Tomorrow I'll get my snowboard and hopefully get to get on the slopes some.

So I'm working on a new project. I'm not really sure how this is going to end up but I want it to be some kind of sign/light that is the Ryan Adams cold rose symbol. This is just some etched plexiglass with some super bright LEDs shinning on it.

So I took Jackson home this weekend. He had a great time. Of course my mom pampers him and he got to play with his running buddy, Josey. Jackson looks like he could be her pup with the brown spots. Let's just hope he doesn't get that big. He also decided to help the painters and got a little messy.

So this is Jackson. The new addition is about 4 months old and a red heeler mix. His favorite activity is sleeping ... all day. So far so good.
